Elysium Artists for the Arctic
Elysium Artists for the Arctic brought together an exceptional international group of artists, photographers, scientists, and explorers to document the Arctic and communicate its beauty and fragility through images, film, and fieldwork. Among the best-known names connected to the expedition were Dr. Sylvia Earle, David Doubilet, Jennifer Hayes, and Ernie Brooks, alongside a wider team of distinguished creative and scientific contributors. The expedition took place from 29 August to 16 September 2015.
I joined the expedition as part of that broader team, contributing to the underwater and exploration side of the project. What made it distinctive was the way it brought together high-level artistic and scientific voices around a shared purpose: to present the Arctic in a compelling way and to strengthen awareness of climate change and the need for protection.
